St. Agnes Catholic School in Vermillion, South Dakota, is seeking a passionate and early childhood certified Full Time Jr. Kindergarten Teacher and part time Preschool Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate(s) will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as lesson planning, developing appropriate, faith-filled learning activities, and creating an interactive social environment that is nurturing and engaging for all preschool students. Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and families is essential. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote and support the unique Catholic Mission of St. Agnes Catholic School by speaking, acting, and providing instruction consistent with the teaching of the Catholic Church
• Implement age-appropriate lessons in early literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and social development aligned with school standards and diocesan catechesis.
• Use play-based, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Differentiate instruction and provide formative assessments to guide learning.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning and collaboration.
• Observe and evaluate students’ learning performance and development on a regular basis, maintaining accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Cooperate with administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school and classroom.
• Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff, by communicating tactfully and confidentially, while treating others with courtesy and dignity

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Experience with differentiated instruction to serve all students in a classroom.
• Effective skills in creating positive relationships with students and their families.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative and organizational skills
• Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field (State certification preferred).
• Relevant teaching experience and content expertise
• Strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit (working alongside colleagues and diocesan leadership), and the ability to create a joyful, structured learning environment.
